Quick word about our merch

Images of Sustainable Naturally Made Materials

We found out awhile back that the fashion industry made up 4% of global emissions in 2018 and that a lot of the plastic in the ocean actually comes from our clothes. We live by the ocean and see trash wash up all the time. So, we thought long and hard about what we put in our shop and how to go about it.

Each item in our store is made on-demand and fulfilled as locally as possible. This allows us to avoid overproduction and textile waste and lower the carbon footprint. Our printing partner’s state-of-the-art tech creates almost no wastewater and uses less energy. We’ve also selected items with recycled materials and natural fibers, whenever possible, and left all the details up so you know exactly what you’re getting.

care instructions

Our merch partner, Printful, uses the latest direct-to-garment (DTG) printing technology to offer a wide variety of printable garments and design color options. The high-quality inks won’t fade for a long time if taken care of properly. The original care instructions on the tags don’t take into consideration the DTG printing process. So we suggest following the care instructions on this page.

Printed apparel and bags

Printed merch can be machine-washed cold, inside-out on a gentle cycle with a mild detergent and like colors. Use non-chlorine bleach only when necessary. You shouldn’t use any fabric softeners or dry-clean the items. Tumble-dried on a low cycle, but hang-dry works best. When it comes to ironing, use cool iron inside-out. Don’t iron the print.  Follow these instructions carefully to avoid fading and cracking of the print, and shrinking the garment that can occur if you wash or dry it on a high setting.

Embroidered hats

Embroidered hats can be wiped clean with a damp cloth in the spots where it’s needed. If necessary, hats can be hand-washed cold. Don’t use brushes.
They can’t be machine-washed, bleached, tumble-dried, ironed, and/or dry-cleaned.

Face Masks

Face Masks can be machine-washed at 140ºF (60ºC) with like colors, without bleach. You can tumble-dry the face masks on low heat and iron on a cool setting. Do not dry clean.

Mugs

Mugs are microwave and dishwasher safe, but the print and coating will last longer if you hand-wash them.

Stainless Steel Water Bottle

Hand-wash only (dishwasher not recommended due to vacuum seal).
