Whoohoo!! We’ve hit another milestone and inked a contract with winery in Hawke’s Bay. That way the fruit won’t have to travel far, which is better for the grapes, better for the yeast, and better for the planet.

The winemaking facility has everything we could ever want from a winemaking perspective, an on-site lab, and a lot of flexibility regarding tank sizes, barrel storage, etc. As we grow, they can grow with us, which is awesome and really sealed the deal for us!

We’re excited to let you know that we signed a contract for organically grown Syrah from Hawke’s Bay in Aotearoa New Zealand!! It’s one of our favorite regions and is very similar to the Central Coast in California. Think tons of sun, cool ocean breezes, and a diverse array of agriculture.

These organic grapes come from a small, family, grower. Diana met their matriarch at a harvest party this year.  Diana had a great conversation with her about small producers and growers and the challenges we face.  They exchanged contact information and here we are!

The fruit is from the Bridge Pa Triangle sub-region of Hawke’s Bay, which has some pretty unique dirt made up of loess, volcanic ash, greywacke, and iron rich “red metal” gravels.

We can’t wait to tell you  about it!
